Xiangyue Huang, or Maphis, is a dedicated young artist and innovator that strives to learn and help others. She has lived in Shanghai and Singapore, exposed to numerous perspectives, and has a passion for building and creating things.
The Story
Growing up, Maphis has always been a devoted person. She enjoyed reading, which she could do for hours on end with a good book. She also loved playing games, watching videos, and being with her friends. As she grew older, her academic and athletic commitments grew, and she had to learn to balance her responsibilities. She learned to prioritize tasks and manage her time. This was very important for her because she is able to both excel at school and explore her interests.
Currently, Maphis is 13 years old, studying at Singapore American School. At school, she takes art and coding as electives, and is hoping to fast track into Studio Art and AP Computer Science, as well as Pre-calculus, in 9th grade. She is also coding a game to help people learn about Singapore, which won first place in the middle school Game and Animation category at the IgniteCS Expo 2024. Her artwork has also won many awards, including a gold award at the 2024 H. C. Andersen Art Awards. Her robotics team has received multiple awards in FLL, VIQRC, and V5RC. Maphis learns from these experiences, both the successes and failures, and uses those to drive herself forward.
In the future, Maphis wants to refine her business, technology, and design skills further, aiming for a college education that can help her do so. She hopes to continue developing her interests to help others and improve lives.
